Minister of Information, Mustapha Hamid has denied repors that he owns a 4X4 car with a customised plate

The Minister for Information, Mustapha Abdul-Hamid has said he does not own a white Toyota Land cruiser vehicle with a customized registration number ‘HAMID 1 18’ as it is being rumoured.
Social media has, within the week, been awash with photos of the Land Cruiser vehicle purported to belong to Mr Hamid.
Commentary accompanying these photos have suggested that Mr Hamid had amassed so much wealth in his short time as Minister and was living a luxurious life.
But the Minister of Information has denied ever owing or using a white 4X4 vehicle adding that "anyone who knows me well, will know that I will never customize a vehicle registration number either in my name or otherwise."
According to him, "checks done at the Driver Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) reveals that the said vehicle registration number does not exist in their system."
He said since it was criminal to have fake licence plates and called on the public to report to the nearest police station the said vehicle is spotted anywhere.
“...Any person who sees the said vehicle should report same to the nearest police station since the registration is fake which is criminal”, he said in a brief statement.
Mr Hamid, a former lecturer at the University of Cape Coast (UCC) has been the Minister of Information for a little under one year.
He was the spokesperson of President Nana Akufo-Addo for a long time before he won power in 2016.
