Songstress Mzbel has thrown her support behind fellow female artiste Ebony Reigns amidst public criticism over the latter’s way of dressing and appearance on stage.
According to her, that comes with the profession. In an interview with Media General’s Owusu Worae, Mzbel stated “it does not make sense” to just criticise a celebrity for the way he or she looks on stage.”
When asked if she believes Ebony is trying to be like her, Mzbel said: “the dancehall artiste wants to be known for what and who she is and not by anybody”.
The “Maame Hw3” hitmaker has come under criticism for her dressing on stage ever since she burst into the music scene.
Some believes it’s her grooming and thus how she exposes herself is not fit to represent the cause of women, whiles others like Mzbel say she is in a business which requires her to attract attention however that comes.
However, Mzbel, born Belinda Nana Ekua Amoah, was once upon a time at the receiving end of scathing verbal, and a physical attack during a performance at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology because of what she wore on stage.
